Patagonia 2023
Located at the tip of South America, Patagonia is one of the most photogenic places on this earth.
On this photography journey we will visit the most beautiful places Patagonia has to offer. Every sunrise and every sunset we will be placed at the best possible spot.
When we are not out photographing we will have Q&A sessions, photography talks as well as editing session. The entire purpose of the tour is to improve our photography, create new friendships and of course, capture something special.
Number of participants: 4-8
Itinerary
The itinerary will be subject to change on short notice, if we notice that bad weather is rolling in in a certain location.
If that is the case we will reschedule and move around in the itinerary. All decisions will be taken along with the group with a suggestion from the tour leaders.
Day 1
You will be picked up in the airport in Puerto Natales, before we drive to Torres del Paine national park. Upon arrival we will have a group dinner, where we get to know eachother, talk about the itinerary and have a Q&A session.
Day 2
We have an early start as we are heading to Salto grande, to photograph sunrise. This is a dream location, and with good conditions, we can get some absolutely magical photos. There are lots of different compositions to play around with, so we will have a blast shooting here.
After Salto grande we have a short walk to get to the burned tree forest. The trees are beautiful foreground material, so we play around here a bit before we head back to town, to have a breakfast.
The thing with Torres del Paine is that it is primarily a sunrise location, therefor we are likely to get the best photos during sunrise. However we will of course shoot sunset as well.
For sunset we will head to the Explora Hotel, from where we have amazing views of the mountain range. We can get some beautiful shots here.
Day 3
Third day of the trip we are heading to Mirador condor. It will take us a short while to drive there, followed by a short hike, but the view once we are there is unbelievable. We will spend the morning looking for compositions, and hopefully photograph the last stars in the sky before the sun rises.
As we come back and finish our breakfast, we will have an editing session, the mentors will help with your editing, and give a few tips.
For sunset, we are heading to Laguna Amarga, where we hope for beautiful conditions. On calm days, it is absolutely stunning here.
Day 4
Today we are heading to Lago Nordenskjold. If we are lucky enough to visit on a day with no wind, the lake resembles a mirror, giving the opportunity for some incredible photos. We will arrive one or tow hours before sunrise, if the weather forecast is clear, in order to do some star photography. By the time the sun rises, we will all have found some beautiful compositions.
Last sunset in Torres del Paine, and we are driving to Lago Grey. Possible the best location in Torres del Paine for sunset. A beautiful location, where we have the opportunity to shoot completely different foregrounds than what we have done until now. Sometimes there will be ice floating in the water, creating some beautiful foregrounds.
Day 5
For our last sunrise in Torres del Paine we are driving to Lago Pehoe. A mesmerizing location, where we have the opportunity to shoot it from either ground level, or higher up. No matter what we choose to do, we will get beautiful results.
As we finish our breakfast, we have a long drive, as we are heading to El Chalten in Argentina.
The plan once we reach El Chalten, is to simply relax until sunset. For sunset, we won’t venture into any crazy hike, but simply drive back to the road we came from, and shoot the mountains from there. The road works as the perfect leading line to the mountains.
Day 7
We have a very early start as we are hiking to the not so secret waterfall. An absolutely amazing location, where the waterfalls is perfectly placed beneath the mountains. We will photograph the last stars, and have the perfect composition locked in, for when the sun rises.
Following on from our sunrise mission, we continue the hike towards Lago Torre. We will spend the night in the nearby campsite, sleeping in tents, and head to the like for sunset. If we are lucky, we might be able to capture the icebergs floating around in the foreground.
Day 8
We rise bright and early, to once again walk to Lago Torre, to hopefully capture some beautiful light here. For those interested, it will also be possible to walk there during the night, to photograph the stars.
After sunrise we are hiking back to town, where we will photograph Rio de Las Vueltas for sunset. The river creates a perfect line to the mountain, making it epic foreground material.
Day 9
For sunrise, we are going back to the side of the road, to hopefully catch some beautiful light on the peaks. The mountain range on the left hand side is often stunning during sunrise as well.
After sunrise we have a long hike to reach Lago de Los Tres. One of the most popular hikes in the area. It will take us 4-5 hours to get there, so it’s important to try to pack light.
The hike can be rather exhausting at times, so we make sure to take many breaks.
We will camp at a campsite located around an hour from the lake, and plan on going to bed early, to be prepared for a long day, next day.
Day 10
Last day of the trip, and we will start it in incredible surroundings. We will rise 2 hours before sunrise, in order to head to Lago de Los Tres. We will arrive while the last stars are still visible in the sky, and walk around to try and find the best composition, to photograph the stars, as well as being prepared for sunrise.
Once we are done shooting sunrise we will hike back down to town, from where we will start to long drive back to Puerto Natales. A drive that will take us around 7,5-8 hours.
We will have a late farewell dinner, where we will talk about the trip, as well as sharing our favorite photos with each other.

You can find me in rural villages in India searching for the best light. In the Chinese countryside photographing the locals and rice terraces. Or about to hike a mountain or volcano in South America or South East Asia in order to create something special.
As I finished my trip around Ecuador in 2013, I figured that I had found a new love. Not only the love for travel, but also of capturing beautiful moments and tell stories through photos.
Not long after I started studying photography on my own, and devoted every free hour to do so.
I slowly developed my style, and after a few years I started getting jobs from hotels, travel companies, product brands and car rentals.
I have worked with companies such as Visit Karakol, Lava car rental, Walking with nomads, Madeira Round Trip, Killa Expeditions, Trendhim, Ditur, Quintana Sao Joao and many more.
This tour has been created in order to allow you to photograph each destination, at the best possible time. I will ensure that you are at the right place, at the right time. Furthermore I will assist you in any way possible, hold talks regarding composition and light, but also about post processing in order to share my knowledge.
