Itinerary

The itinerary will be subject to change on short notice, if we notice that bad weather is rolling in in a certain location.

If that is the case we will reschedule and move around in the itinerary. All decisions will be taken along with the group with a suggestion from the tour leaders.

Day 1-4

You will be picked up in Cusco airport where we will spend our first days acclimatizing to the high altitudes. We will be surrounded by high altitudes once we leave Cusco, so it is important that we prepare ourselves in the best possible way. The first day we will spend relaxing, talking about our itinerary, as well as getting to know each other. On day two we will venture to the local market, where we will indulge in the delicious food and fruit, as well as taking some street photography.
Day three we will walk around the city, taking some street photos, as well as prepare for the beginning of our hike the following day.

Day 4-10

This is when the real adventure begins. Early on day 4 we are leaving to begin our trek around the Ausangate region. We will spend a total of 7 days and 6 nights, hiking around this incredible region. We will experience some of the most beautiful sights of our life, hiking among giant snowcapped mountain peaks, rural villages, multicolored mountains and alpacas. We will experience some incredible sights, sleeping in tents beneath the milky way, with the possibility of photographing the night sky in its full glory. It is a moderate to challenging hike, but not very technical. We will reach an altitude of 5200 meters, and walk in a pace that everyone can follow. For more info on the hike, feel free to contact me further.

Day 10

As we leave the Ausangate region, we will head back to Cusco where we have an editing day and will relax before leaving again in the morning.

Day 11-12

Early on day 11 we will take the train to Aguas Calientes which is located at the foot of Machu Picchu. We will go to bed early in order to prepare for the following day, where we will rise early in order to be among the first people entering Machu Picchu. Once inside we will wander around for a few hours, looking for the best photography spots. It is truly a magnificent sight to behold.

Day 12-16

Late on day 12 we will arrive back in Cusco, pack up our things and prepare for the following day. We will head to Iquitos where we have three days in the jungle, photographing wildlife, sailing down the river and hiking around the jungle. It will be a complete change of scenery but a welcome one, where we will talk about, and shoot, a different kind of photography compared to the following days.

Day 17

On day 17 we will arrive back to Cusco on our final day together. We will talk about the trip, have our final editing session and enjoy a farewell dinner.

Niclas Glud

You can find me in rural villages in India searching for the best light. In the Chinese countryside photographing the locals and rice terraces. Or about to hike a mountain or volcano in South America or South East Asia in order to create something special.

As I finished my trip around Ecuador in 2013, I figured that I had found a new love. Not only the love for travel, but also of capturing beautiful moments and tell stories through photos.

Not long after I started studying photography on my own, and devoted every free hour to do so.

I slowly developed my style, and after a few years I started getting jobs from hotels, travel companies, product brands and car rentals.

I have worked with companies such as Visit Karakol, Lava car rental, Walking with nomads, Madeira Round Trip, Killa Expeditions, Trendhim, Ditur, Quintana Sao Joao and many more.

This tour has been created in order to allow you to photograph each destination, at the best possible time. I will ensure that you are at the right place, at the right time. Furthermore I will assist you in any way possible, hold talks regarding composition and light, but also about post processing in order to share my knowledge.

The mountains are what makes this place unique. Knowing the best spots in the area will ensure that we are able to capture some incredible photos
